Astra Mobility Meta and W Motors Partner on 30,000 Smart Electric and Autonomous Vehicles
Astra Mobility Meta, a subsidiary of Robo.ai, has entered into a commercial agreement with Dubai-based W Motors to co-develop and produce 30,000 smart electric and autonomous vehicles over the next five years, announced in a press release.
Under the agreement, Astra will lead product design, development, prototyping, and systems integration, while W Motors will manage local manufacturing and assembly in Dubai Silicon Oasis. The companies expect to complete development within 12 months, with production starting in 2026. A proof-of-concept vehicle will be deployed within three months of signing for end-user testing.
The collaboration includes connecting vehicles to Arkreen's green-energy blockchain network, enabling on-chain records for charging, energy use, and emissions. This integration supports data transparency and establishes a digital identity for each vehicle within a decentralized framework.
The initial rollout will take place in the UAE, with expansion planned across the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
