Araceli Adds Cellular Imaging to Ginkgo's Nebula Lab

Oct 8, 2026
Araceli Biosciences has integrated its Endeavor cellular imaging instrument into Ginkgo Bioworks' autonomous Nebula lab in Boston.

Araceli Biosciences and Ginkgo Bioworks announced in a press release that Araceli's Endeavor cellular imaging instrument has been integrated into Ginkgo's autonomous Nebula lab in Boston. The system will generate cellular datasets for training and validating AI models used in drug discovery.

Endeavor can image a 1536 well plate in under four minutes. Araceli's ClaireRT software analyzes each well as images are captured and can alert operators, notify Nebula, or stop imaging when results fall outside defined criteria.

The instrument runs within Nebula's Reconfigurable Automation Cart system, which combines robotic arms, automated sample transport, laboratory instruments, and control software. Nebula has more than 100 carts and operates experiments continuously.
