Apple has launched the iPhone 16e, priced at $599, featuring Apple Intelligence and a USB-C port, available from February 28.

Apple has launched its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the iPhone 16e, priced at $599, reports Reuters. This new model, set to ship on February 28, marks a significant shift from the previous SE branding and introduces several advanced features.

The iPhone 16e is equipped with Apple's A18 processor, enabling it to support Apple Intelligence, a suite of AI features that includes integrated access to ChatGPT. This positions the 16e alongside Apple's flagship models in terms of AI capabilities. Additionally, the device is the first to feature Apple's in-house C1 modem, moving away from reliance on Qualcomm chips.

Design-wise, the iPhone 16e adopts a 6.1-inch OLED display and replaces the traditional Touch ID with Face ID, while also transitioning to a USB-C port, aligning with Apple's broader hardware strategy. The camera system includes a 48-megapixel sensor with a two-times zoom lens, enhancing its photographic capabilities.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 16e will be available from February 21 in 59 countries, including major markets like the U.S., China, and India. This launch comes as Apple aims to regain market share in regions where competition from Android devices is strong.
