Apple Partners with Alibaba to Launch AI Services in China

Apple has partnered with Alibaba to introduce AI features in China, aiming to boost iPhone sales in the region.

Apple has announced a partnership with Alibaba to bring AI-powered features to its devices in China. This collaboration aims to enhance Apple's presence in the Chinese market, where iPhone sales have been declining. The Information reported that the two companies have already submitted their co-developed AI services for approval by China's cyberspace regulator.

Previously, Apple worked with Baidu but was dissatisfied with the AI models developed by the Chinese search giant. Apple also considered partnerships with Tencent, ByteDance, and DeepSeek before finalizing the deal with Alibaba. The introduction of Apple Intelligence features in China is expected to occur in April, coinciding with the release of iOS 18.4.

The partnership with Alibaba marks a strategic move by Apple to counteract declining sales in China, where domestic brands like Huawei and Vivo have gained significant market share. The collaboration has positively impacted both Apple and Alibaba's stock prices, while Baidu's shares have seen a decline.
