Apera AI Introduces VuePod Bin Picking Cell at Automate 2026
Apera AI unveiled VuePod, a self-contained bin picking automation cell, at Automate 2026 in Chicago. The system is built on the company’s 4D Vision technology and is available immediately, according to a press release.
VuePod is designed to operate without custom engineering or in-house vision expertise. It autonomously plans and corrects each pick, handling job setup including picking strategy, reorientation, and path planning. The unit ships fully assembled with Apera Vue software and dedicated hardware, and its performance is verified before delivery.
Setting up VuePod requires three steps: connecting power and signals, running self-calibration, and teaching placement by positioning a part in the fixture. The initial model supports small to medium ferrous metal parts common in automotive manufacturing, using a magnetic gripper. Apera AI plans to expand compatibility with additional grippers and actuators in future versions.
VuePod aims to simplify deployment for manufacturers by replacing traditional custom integration with a ready-to-install product tested before shipment.
