Anthropic Hits $1 Trillion Valuation on Secondary Markets, Surpassing OpenAI

Anthropic has reached an estimated one trillion dollar valuation on private trading platform Forge Global, overtaking OpenAI, which is valued at about eight hundred eighty billion dollars on the same marketplace, according to Tom's Hardware.

The figure marks a sharp increase from Anthropic’s last funding round three months ago, which valued the company at three hundred eighty billion dollars. The secondary market valuation reflects what investors are willing to pay to buy shares from existing holders, such as early employees or seed investors, since neither company is publicly listed.

Traders report that demand for Anthropic shares has outpaced supply, with offers reaching up to one point fifteen trillion dollars. Some shareholders say they receive multiple offers daily but are reluctant to sell. Meanwhile, interest in OpenAI shares has remained subdued, with bids reportedly below its last primary round valuation.

Observers attribute the rise in Anthropic’s secondary market value to rapid revenue growth and strong adoption of its Claude AI products, particularly its coding assistant Claude Code, which has drawn significant attention from developers and investors alike.
