Anthropic Forecasts Significant Revenue Growth by 2027
Anthropic, an AI startup competing with OpenAI, has projected that its revenue could soar to $34.5 billion by 2027, according to a report by The Information. In a more conservative scenario, the company expects to achieve $12 billion in revenue by that year, up from $2.2 billion in 2025.
The company has informed investors that it anticipates burning $3 billion in cash this year, a significant reduction from the $5.6 billion spent last year. Anthropic's management aims to stop burning cash by 2027. The startup sells access to its AI models directly and through third-party cloud services, including Amazon Web Services.
Anthropic is currently in discussions to raise $2 billion, which would value the company at $60 billion. This follows a $4 billion funding round from Amazon. The AI sector has seen substantial investment, with startups like Anthropic and xAI accounting for nearly half of the venture capital raised in the U.S. last year.
