Anthropic Releases Claude Opus 4.7 with Improved Coding and Vision Capabilities
Anthropic announced in a press release the general availability of Claude Opus 4.7, an upgrade to its Opus 4.6 model. The new version improves performance in advanced software engineering tasks, handling complex, long-running coding work with greater accuracy and consistency.
Claude Opus 4.7 features enhanced vision capabilities, supporting images up to 2,576 pixels on the long edge—over three times the resolution of previous models. It also demonstrates improved multimodal understanding, better instruction following, and stronger memory handling across multi-session tasks.
The model includes new safeguards to block high-risk cybersecurity use cases, following Anthropic’s commitment under Project Glasswing to test cyber protections before broader model releases. Security professionals can apply to the company’s new Cyber Verification Program for approved use cases.
Additional updates include a new “xhigh” effort level for finer control of reasoning intensity, task budgets for API users, and an “ultrareview” command in Claude Code that automates code review sessions. Claude Opus 4.7 is available now through the Claude API, Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, and Microsoft Foundry at the same pricing as Opus 4.6.
