Amazon has blocked Meta's Muse AI agent from shopping on Amazon.com, citing its lack of identification and potential handling of customer data.

Amazon has blocked Meta's Muse AI agent from shopping on Amazon.com, according to The Decoder. Meta reportedly deployed Muse on the platform without an agreement with Amazon.

Amazon says Muse does not identify itself as an AI agent while browsing and appears to store customer data, creating security risks. Users now see a warning stating that access by an unauthorized AI agent violates Amazon's terms of service.

Meta says Muse cannot access passwords or payment details. Amazon has also restricted shopping agents from Perplexity, Google and OpenAI.
