Advantech Unveils Edge AI Solutions with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite
Advantech has unveiled its latest edge AI compute solutions powered by the Snapdragon X Elite platform, announced in a press release. The new products, including the AOM-6731 AI module, AIMB-293 Mini-ITX motherboard, and SOM-6820 COM Express Type 6 module, are designed to meet the demands of modern industrial applications.
These solutions leverage the Snapdragon X Elite's 12-core and Snapdragon X Plus 10-core processors, which feature Qualcomm Oryton CPUs capable of speeds up to 3.4GHz. This configuration provides up to 45 TOPS of AI performance while using 28% less power than traditional x86 solutions. The devices also integrate Qualcomm's Hexagon NPU for enhanced AI capabilities.
Connectivity is a key feature, with integrated Wi-Fi 7 and 5G technologies ensuring ultra-fast, low-latency network performance. This makes the solutions suitable for data-intensive AI applications and robust remote operations. The products will be available for engineering evaluations starting in March 2025.
