Actian Enhances Data Intelligence Platform with Data Contracts

Actian has announced enhancements to its Data Intelligence Platform, embedding data contracts and governance by design into development workflows to increase data reliability, announced in a press release. The new features aim to transform how enterprises manage distributed data, ensuring it is trustworthy and reliable at the source before consumption.

The platform's "data contract first" approach integrates governance early in the data lifecycle, using shift-left principles to automate data products and enforce compliance. This ensures data products are well-documented and maintain quality guarantees from the start, fostering greater trust in data and accelerating AI and data-driven initiatives.

Actian's enhancements also include the integration of dedicated APIs to streamline data discovery and consumption, allowing business users to quickly find and use the data they need. The platform supports decentralized data ownership, improving collaboration and democratizing data across business and IT users. Additionally, the new AI-powered natural language query capability, Ask AI, is in private preview, enabling users to search using everyday language.

These new capabilities are available immediately in the Actian Data Intelligence Platform, with the Ask AI feature currently in private preview.
