Aalo Atomics Unveils Modular Nuclear Plant Prototype for AI Data Centers

Aalo Atomics has introduced the first prototype of its modular nuclear plant, designed to power AI data centers, as announced in a press release.

Aalo Atomics has unveiled the prototype of its Aalo-1 reactor, marking the industry's first fully modular nuclear plant designed specifically for AI and data centers, announced in a press release. The unveiling coincides with the completion of Aalo's new 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas.

The Aalo-1 reactor is a core component of the Aalo Pod XMR, a 50 MWe power plant that is fully modular and scalable to gigawatts. Each Aalo Pod contains five Aalo-1 reactors and can be easily collocated with data centers due to its small footprint and lack of need for external water sources. The reactors are sodium-cooled and use low enriched uranium fuel, which is both safe and readily available.

Aalo Atomics aims to revolutionize the nuclear industry by mass manufacturing reactors in factories, making the process faster and more predictable. The company plans to break ground on its first nuclear reactor next year and has already secured significant partnerships and land for future developments.
