Leidos reports autonomous maritime operations during RIMPAC 2026, while the U.S. Army awarded Palantir and Anduril $192 million for eight TITAN battlefield intelligence systems. This edition also covers a planned Ukrainian defense technology startup backed by Palantir CEO Alex Karp, plus new aerial defense work between Kawasaki Heavy Industries and EdgeCortix.

Aitech introduced rugged AI computing boards for military and aerospace uses, and Knox Systems launched a U.S. Space Force sponsored Impact Level 5 cloud environment for sensitive defense workloads. Anthropic said it removed accounts linked to a Yemen based cell that used Claude Code to develop missile guidance software, while Robo.ai outlined plans for a UAE maritime security subsidiary with Alif Holding.
Leidos maritime autonomy supports U.S. Navy exercises
Leidos says its Sea Hunter autonomous vessel traveled more than 2,000 nautical miles during RIMPAC 2026, while Seahawk operated with the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group. The company reports its maritime autonomy systems have logged more than 200,000 nautical miles and 14,000 hours of autonomous operations. Read more
US Army awards $192 million to Palantir and Anduril for TITAN
The US Army awards Palantir and Anduril contracts totaling $192 million for eight Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node systems. The systems will collect and distribute battlefield intelligence from terrestrial and space based sources. Read more
Palantir CEO backs Fedorov’s Ukrainian defense startup
Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov is launching a defense technology company, with Palantir CEO Alex Karp expected to serve as its first lead investor. The company plans products based on Ukraine’s experience with drones, artificial intelligence and battlefield software, though financial details and its name remain undisclosed. Read more
Kawasaki Heavy Industries and EdgeCortix partner on AI aerial defense
Kawasaki Heavy Industries and EdgeCortix agree to develop AI enabled aerial defense systems from 2026 to 2028. The program will combine defense engineering with onboard AI hardware and MERA software for sensor fusion, object recognition and threat assessment. Read more

Aitech introduces the 3U VPX C530 and SOSA aligned 3U VPX U C5300 rugged AI GPGPU boards for defense and aerospace systems. The boards support AI inference, sensor fusion, radar processing, electronic warfare and unmanned aircraft applications. Read more
Anthropic details Claude Code use in northern Yemen weapons software
Anthropic says a cell in northern Yemen used Claude Code to develop software for guided rocket, ballistic missile and R2000 missile programs. The company reports that a guided rocket test failed and says it found no evidence that an operational weapon was deployed. Read more
Havoc and CSBC partner on autonomous vessels for Taiwan
Havoc and CSBC Corporation, Taiwan will pursue licensed co production of autonomous surface vessels for Taiwan's maritime security. The vessels will be built and supported in Taiwan, combining Havoc's autonomy software with CSBC's shipbuilding capabilities. Read more
SandboxAQ tests AQNav magnetic navigation on Northrop Grumman Lumberjack UAS
SandboxAQ and Northrop Grumman tested the AQNav magnetic navigation system on the Lumberjack Group 3 unmanned aircraft system. The flight combined magnetic and visual navigation to provide positioning without satellites or external signals in GPS denied environments. Read more
Knox Systems launches Space Force sponsored IL5 environment for defense AI
Knox Systems launches an Impact Level 5 cloud environment sponsored by the U.S. Space Force for commercial software and AI applications handling sensitive defense workloads. The service covers Controlled Unclassified Information and mission critical National Security Systems. Read more
CAE and WB Electronics sign MoU on unmanned systems training
CAE and WB Electronics signed a memorandum of understanding to explore training and mission readiness for unmanned and autonomous systems. The agreement covers opportunities in Canada, Poland and allied countries. Read more
Robo.ai Proposes Alif Maritec UAE Subsidiary for Maritime Security
Robo.ai says its Alif Holding industrial group plans to form Alif Maritec in the UAE to develop AI-enabled maritime security and smart port systems. The proposed subsidiary would initially serve Gulf Cooperation Council markets, with Dr. Jasem Al-Mansory expected to chair the company. Read more
Owl Autonomous Imaging selected for Pentagon-led DUTCH thermal imaging award
Owl Autonomous Imaging will develop and demonstrate thermal imaging capabilities under the Pentagon-led DUTCH initiative. The work will use its uncooled long-wave infrared technology and KnightOwl HD platform for autonomous, defense, automotive and industrial applications. Read more
