Tandem is developing AI agents that connect with restaurant systems and automate operational tasks. The company has raised seed funding and is testing its software across 100 locations.

xtraCHEF cofounders Andrew Schwartz and Bhavik Patel are launching Tandem, an AI company for restaurant operations, the company announced in a press release. Chef and restaurateur Michael Schulson has joined as a founding partner.

Tandem is developing AI agents that work with existing point of sale, labor, accounting, inventory, purchasing, reservation, delivery and marketing systems. The software analyzes information, identifies issues, automates repetitive workflows and provides a shared workspace for employees and AI agents.

The company has closed an initial seed financing and is testing its software across 100 restaurant locations. It plans to expand its engineering and product teams, add integrations and increase deployments. Schwartz serves as CEO, Patel as chief product and technology officer, and Schulson will advise on product strategy and restaurant applications.
