XPENG Robotics Raises Over $900 Million for Humanoid Robots
XPENG Robotics has raised over $900 million at an after investment valuation of over $6.3 billion, the company announced in a press release. The financing was led by IDG Capital, with participation from Gaorong Ventures and strategic support from Tencent and Alibaba Group.
The company said the round will fund software and hardware research for its humanoid robot program, training and updates for Physical AI models, data generation, production facilities, and global commercial expansion.
Its IRON humanoid robot has 76 degrees of freedom across its body and 21 in each hand. It uses three Turing AI chips with up to 2,250 TOPS of computing power, and is designed to run XPENG's Physical AI foundation model on device so it can perform tasks without remote operation.
XPENG expects IRON to enter mass production by the end of 2026, with initial deployments at XPENG stores and campuses. The company plans to begin deliveries in China and overseas markets in 2027.
