xAI Introduces Grok Build CLI for Software Engineers
xAI announced in a press release the early beta release of Grok Build, a coding agent and command line interface designed for professional software engineering. The tool is currently available to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers.
Grok Build allows developers to plan, review, and approve code changes directly within their terminal. Users can start the agent in plan mode to preview and modify proposed steps before execution. The system displays all approved changes as clean diffs for easier tracking.
The CLI integrates with existing developer setups, automatically detecting plugins, hooks, and skills in a repository. It supports subagents that can run in parallel for larger projects and includes deep integration with worktrees.
Grok Build also supports a headless mode for automation scripts and provides ACP support for building custom bots and orchestration tools. Users can install the beta with a single command using the provided curl script and submit feedback directly from the CLI.
