Workday Named Market Shaper for AI Agents in HR
Workday said in a press release that Gartner named it a Market Shaper in the inaugural 2026 Emerging Market Quadrant for AI Agents in Human Resources among established vendors. The company reported that customers automated 95% of frontline hiring, reduced hiring time by 70%, increased internal hires by 15%, and resolved some payroll questions in under a minute.
Workday agents support tasks across hiring, employee assistance, payroll, and talent management. They use existing organizational policies, permissions, and approval processes, with human oversight included.
The agents can move candidates through hiring, answer employee questions, identify missing payroll information, and recommend actions. Gartner states that its research reflects the opinions of its research organization and does not endorse vendors, products, or services included in its publications.
