WGA East Offers Cloak Software to Protect Scripts From AI

WGA East is giving members free access to Cloak, software that makes scripts resistant to AI analysis, scraping, and training while preserving their formatting.

Writers Guild of America East is giving members free access to Cloak, software designed to prevent AI models from reading scripts, according to Deadline. Writers can upload a document and receive a version that retains its formatting while resisting AI analysis, scraping, and training.

The union intends the software for scripts shared with studio executives, producers, agents, actors, and editors. Cloak is meant to reduce the risk that recipients or other parties use those documents for AI training or automated summaries.

WGA East members can use Cloak at no cost. Other writers can access it for $10 through the union's script registration service, which is available to nonmembers.
