Upstage Launches Solar Pro 4 Large Language Model
Upstage launched Solar Pro 4, its closed commercial flagship large language model, on August 11, the company announced in a press release. The model is built for document understanding, information extraction, long context reasoning, and agent workflows with tool calls and structured outputs.
Upstage said Solar Pro 4 reached more than 370 billion tokens on OpenRouter within one week of listing. The model is also integrated into Hermes Agent from Nous Research, where it supports agent workflows for developers.
Artificial Analysis gave Solar Pro 4 an overall score of 42. Upstage said the model scored 71 on the AA LCR long context comprehension benchmark, which measures information extraction and reasoning across large document sets.
Solar Pro 4 follows Upstage's release of Solar Open 2. The company is headquartered in South Korea and opened its US headquarters in San Jose in 2025.
