UNDP and Exponential Science Foundation Launch Government Blockchain Academy
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Exponential Science Foundation have announced a partnership to establish the Government Blockchain Academy, a new initiative designed to drive public sector innovation. Announced in a press release, the Academy will focus on providing specialized education and implementation programs that leverage blockchain, AI, and other emerging technologies to help governments address specific challenges.
The Academy will operate across five main pillars: Inclusive Digital Finance, Transparent Governance, Supply Chain Integrity, Climate Resilience, and Digital Identity Solutions. These pillars aim to enhance access to financial services, improve governance integrity, support supply chain accountability, facilitate climate financing, and provide verifiable digital credentials.
The Government Blockchain Academy is set to launch its first country programs in 2026, with preparatory work beginning in 2025. The initiative will be formally unveiled during the TOKEN2049 event in Singapore, where an industry roundtable will be held to align protocol developers and infrastructure providers in support of this global educational effort.
The Academy will offer a range of learning opportunities, including in-person workshops, online modules, and leadership forums tailored to public sector needs. Government participants will receive structured support, from use case identification to solution design workshops, enabling them to co-create scalable blockchain initiatives that address national priorities.
