UK Met 137 Businesses but No Environmental Groups on AI Datacentre Policy
Ministers and senior officials who developed the UK's AI datacentre policy met 137 businesses but no environmental groups, according to an investigation by the nonprofit Spotlight on Corruption, The Guardian reported. Senior officials met only two community groups over the same period.
The group filed 40 freedom of information requests to 18 government agencies covering July 2024 to June 2026, when the government was shaping its "AI growth zones" policy. It also found that 38 ministers, senior civil servants and special advisers were hired into AI companies between July 2024 and September 2026, nine of them from the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.
"The government totally failed at the most senior level to speak to environmental NGOs or community groups when developing its flagship policy on AI datacentres," said Kamila Kingstone, a campaign lead at Spotlight on Corruption.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
