TransPerfect Acquires Apostroph Group to Expand DACH Region Presence
TransPerfect, the world's largest provider of language and AI solutions, has announced the acquisition of Apostroph Group, a prominent language service provider (LSP) based in Switzerland and Germany. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Apostroph Group, known for its significant market share in the DACH region, has grown through both organic means and mergers, including a notable merger with Germany-based Wieners+Wieners in 2017. The company, founded in 1994 and led by CEO Philipp Meier since 2010, operates from its global headquarters in Lucerne, Switzerland, with ten offices across Switzerland and Germany.
Following the acquisition, Apostroph will function as a division within the TransPerfect Global Group, continuing under the leadership of Philipp Meier. This strategic move aims to leverage TransPerfect's global scale and R&D resources to benefit Apostroph's team and clients.
The acquisition strengthens TransPerfect's footprint in the DACH region, which is a key strategic area for the company, encompassing multiple client service, production, and studio facilities across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. TransPerfect's strategy focuses on mutual growth by sharing expertise and resources to enhance customer service.
TransPerfect President and Co-CEO Phil Shawe expressed pride in welcoming Apostroph to the team, acknowledging their excellent work and respected reputation in the DACH region. The transaction was advised by CDX Advisors and several law firms, while Apostroph Group stakeholders were represented by KPMG and other legal advisors.
