Theranica AI Predicts Next Day Migraine Risk With 91.2% Precision

Theranica said in an announcement that its Your Day Ahead feature achieved 91.2% precision in forecasting a user's likelihood of migraine the following day. The peer reviewed study analyzed 770,473 daily reports from 53,065 Nerivio users, collected from January 2020 through July 2025.

The best performing machine learning model recorded 81% accuracy, 80% sensitivity, 83% specificity, and an AUC of 0.893. The strongest predictor was a user's rolling average headache severity during the previous 30 days.

Data from the previous 30 days contributed 56.3% of model performance, while symptoms that can precede a migraine contributed 11.1%. The feature is available through the Nerivio app to help users anticipate migraine attacks, but it does not diagnose migraine or recommend treatment changes.

The researchers said the results need confirmation in broader migraine populations. Study participants used a single therapeutic device and included a high proportion of people with frequent migraines who actively sought treatment.
