TerraClear Introduces AI Weed Mapping Service for Giant Ragweed Control
TerraClear announced in a press release the launch of its Giant Ragweed Mapping Service, an AI system that uses drone imagery to identify and locate weed outbreaks in large organic row crop fields. The service is intended to help farmers manage giant ragweed, a plant that can release up to 10,000 seeds and threaten future yields.
The new mapping system provides precise GPS coordinates of ragweed escapes, allowing farmers to target individual plants instead of conducting broad manual scouting. The service is designed for use in late July and early August before the plants release seeds into the soil.
According to TerraClear, the tool enables farm managers to allocate labor more efficiently and prevent weed spread during harvest. The company is currently accepting bookings for the 2026 summer mapping window, with limited availability for acreage reservations.
