TCL has launched a new smart air conditioner factory in Guangzhou after surpassing 100 million units produced since 2021. The facility uses over 2,000 AI agents and industrial robots to fully automate production and improve efficiency.

TCL has launched a new smart air conditioner factory in Guangzhou, marking the production of its 100 millionth air conditioner unit since 2021, announced in a press release.

The new facility, built with an investment of nearly RMB 2 billion (about USD 290 million), spans 303 acres and can produce one air conditioner every seven seconds. It has an annual capacity of 8 million units and includes three 24-hour automated factories, 15 laboratories, and 10 intelligent production lines.

An AI data supercomputing center coordinates over 2,000 AI agents and a network of industrial robots, enabling fully automated production of core components. This includes an AI-driven heat exchanger line that improves operational efficiency by more than 40%.

The site also features 50,000 square meters of solar panels and an AI-based energy management system to maintain low emissions and near-zero waste. TCL now ranks third globally in air conditioner sales, with operations in more than 160 countries.
