STL Optical Connectivity Gains US Conec Certification for MMC Solutions
Announced in a press release, STL Optical Connectivity NA, a subsidiary of Sterlite Technologies Limited, has received certification from US Conec to provide pre-terminated fiber trunks using MMC connectors. The certification positions STL among a small number of companies globally authorized to deliver US Conec-certified MMC solutions.
The MMC connector design offers three times the cabling capacity of traditional MPO connectors, using a very small form factor to enable higher rack density and reduced cable congestion. These features are intended to support hyperscale data centers moving toward 800G and higher connectivity.
STL has expanded its North American data center portfolio, Neuralis, which includes pre-terminated fiber trunks, fiber array cords, and assemblies. The company stated that the certification aligns with its goal to supply high-density interconnects for AI ready infrastructure through its Glass to Data Center product range.
