Generative AI adoption in South Korea reached 40.6% in June, up 3.5 percentage points from the previous quarter and ranking 12th worldwide.

South Korea's generative AI usage rate reached 40.6% in June, ranking 12th globally, according to Chosunbiz. The figure rose 3.5 percentage points from the previous quarter, based on a report from the AI Economy Institute at Microsoft.

Global adoption increased from 17.8% in the first quarter to 18.8% in the second quarter. The United Arab Emirates led at 73.3%, followed by Singapore at 64.3%, Ireland at 49.9%, and France at 49.6%.

Usage reached 28.8% in the Global North and 16.2% in the Global South. Consumer Copilot data showed that learning, skills training, academic support, and content creation were more common in the Global South, while shopping, search, and feedback were more common in the Global North.
