Softcat to Buy General Datatech for $1.05 Billion

Softcat will acquire General Datatech from H.I.G. Capital at an enterprise value of $1.05 billion. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2027.

H.I.G. Capital said in a press release that an affiliate signed an agreement to sell General Datatech to an affiliate of Softcat for an enterprise value of $1.05 billion. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2027.

General Datatech provides AI ready IT infrastructure and services across networking, hybrid cloud, data centers, cybersecurity, and collaboration. The company was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Dallas.

H.I.G. Capital invested in General Datatech in 2021. During its ownership, the company expanded its services, opened a center in Bangalore, invested in AI and cybersecurity, and doubled its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization.
