SoftBank Robotics America and Flagship Expand Airport Cleaning Robot Program

SoftBank Robotics America and Flagship Aviation Services expanded their autonomous airport floor care program to more than 200 robots across 25 U.S. airports.

SoftBank Robotics America and Flagship Aviation Services announced in a press release that they have expanded an autonomous airport floor care program to more than 200 robots across 25 U.S. airports.

The partnership began in 2024 with 100 autonomous cleaning robots across 15 locations. The expanded fleet has passed 100,000 operating hours and is approaching 500 million square feet cleaned.

The robots clean nearly one million square feet per day on average. Flagship uses SoftBank Robotics America robots for sweeping, scrubbing, mopping hard floors, and vacuuming carpets across airport environments of different sizes.

The program includes newer robots such as Omnie and V40. Flagship said it is also evaluating additional technology for uses including smart restrooms and facility security.
