SoftBank Group Corp. has completed an additional $22.5 billion investment in OpenAI, finalizing its $40 billion commitment announced in March 2025. The second closing occurred on December 26, 2025, in the United States.

The investment was made through SoftBank Vision Fund 2, following an initial $7.5 billion investment completed in April 2025. With the latest funding, SoftBank now holds approximately 11% ownership in OpenAI. The total funding round, which included $11 billion from third-party co-investors, reached a combined $41 billion.
