Sainaptic Raises £1 Million for AI Assisted Assessment Tools

Oct 13, 2026
UK edtech startup Sainaptic raised £1 million to expand its AI assisted marking tools and add quality assurance, analytics and personalized assessments.

Sainaptic raised £1 million to expand its AI assisted assessment technology, according to Tech.eu. Cornerstone VC and Ufi Ventures jointly led the round, with participation from Elm Venture Partners and Brighteye Ventures.

The UK edtech startup develops AI tools to help exam boards and training providers assess vocational and professional qualifications, which often involve short answers, essays, reports, presentations and professional discussions. Sainaptic says its models have cut marking time for some qualifications from 45 minutes to eight seconds, with less than 1 percent deviation from expert assessors.

Sainaptic also partnered with Skilltech Solutions to add its models to Skilltech's assessment delivery platform. The initial service will evaluate portfolios across selected apprenticeship standards while qualified assessors retain control of final decisions. Participating assessment organizations are expected to gain access in the first quarter of 2027.

The company will use the funding to add quality assurance, analytics and personalized assessments, while expanding its engineering, product and sales teams.
