RoboParty Unveils RP1 Open Source Humanoid Robot

Oct 5, 2026
RoboParty unveiled its RP1 bipedal humanoid robot at IROS 2026, with plans to release its control systems, simulation tools, software kits and training tools.

RoboParty said in a press release that it unveiled the RP1 bipedal humanoid robot at IROS 2026 in Pittsburgh on September 28. The company describes RP1 as a full stack open source platform for robotics research, education and embodied AI development.

RP1 uses Romomo actuator modules with peak joint torque of up to 160 newton meters and a real time motion control system. Its PartyOS development platform includes UFO, a training framework that uses unsupervised reinforcement learning for movement transitions, disturbance recovery and fall recovery without predefined motion trajectories.

RoboParty plans to release the robot's motion control systems, simulation environments, software development kits, training tools and PartyOS components in stages. The company expects to provide more details about the open source roadmap in October, followed by broader software and hardware releases and a mass production program later in the fourth quarter.
