Region Stockholm Consolidates Hospital Imaging in Sectra Cloud System
Sweden’s Region Stockholm and Region Gotland will consolidate all hospital imaging into a single cloud-based system provided by Sectra, announced in a press release. The transition expands the regions’ long-term use of Sectra’s enterprise imaging solution into a fully managed cloud service covering all medical imaging specialties.
The unified system will allow clinicians across hospitals to access and share images more easily, reducing IT complexity and improving collaboration between departments. Sectra will manage, monitor, and continuously upgrade the cloud service, which can be scaled as imaging volumes and specialties grow.
The 10-year contract, valued at approximately SEK 1.6 billion, includes a guaranteed order value of SEK 557 million. By consolidating imaging systems, Region Stockholm aims to strengthen cybersecurity and reduce maintenance requirements while improving patient care through more streamlined diagnostics and workflows.
