RD20 Conference Brings AI for Energy Workshop to South Africa
The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research and Japan's National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology will hold the eighth RD20 Conference in Pretoria, South Africa, from October 19 to 23, 2026, according to an announcement. It will be the first RD20 conference held in Africa.
The program will open on October 19 with an AI for Energy workshop that builds on discussions held in South Korea in April. The event will also cover smart grids, hydrogen, energy access, synthetic fuels, critical minerals and routes to climate neutrality.
The conference will take place at the CSIR International Convention Centre. Public sessions will also be available online.
