Public has acquired the retail brokerage accounts of Tornado, an AI platform for financial institutions, announced in a press release. More than 85,000 Tornado brokerage customers will migrate to Public's active trading platform, where they can invest across a broad range of asset classes.

Following the transaction, Tornado will continue to focus on its AI research capabilities for institutional investors, serving hedge funds, asset managers, and other financial institutions. Tornado's revenue has reportedly tripled in recent months due to increased interest from these sectors.

Public's COO, Stephen Sikes, highlighted that Tornado's customers will gain access to a modern brokerage platform equipped with AI-powered tools and charting capabilities. This platform is designed for investors who wish to develop and execute their own strategies.

Tornado's CEO, Bernard George, emphasized the potential for financial institutions to leverage AI to enhance investment processes, creating efficiency and alpha. Tornado will continue to support its partner firms with scalable structural advantages in the industry.
