Pilot Photonics Launches 16-Channel O-Band Lasers for AI Datacentres
Pilot Photonics has introduced its first O-band laser products to enhance optical connectivity in AI datacentres, announced in a press release. The company unveiled two 16-channel 200 GHz spaced O-band laser products, designed to support scalable, parallel optics in datacentres and AI systems.
The new offerings include a 16-channel O-band laser array chip for integration into external laser modules and a 16-channel O-band laser instrument for R&D labs and test applications. These products aim to facilitate rapid prototyping and system development for CW-WDM architectures, providing a robust platform for AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, and high-performance computing.
Pilot Photonics is also working on a fully integrated OIF-compliant ELSFP module, leveraging its proprietary ExCELS™ technology. This technology combines the stability and coherence of comb lasers with the flexibility of discrete laser arrays, enhancing precision and scalability for next-generation optics. The company has joined the CW-WDM MSA consortium to align its products with industry standards for modular, interoperable solutions.
