Over 300 Robotics Companies Cluster in Beijing’s Yizhuang
More than 300 robotics-related companies have gathered in the Beijing Yizhuang Economic-Technological Development Area, forming an industrial chain valued at over 10 billion yuan, according to a press release. The area has become a hub for embodied intelligence and humanoid robot development, supported by frequent competitions and large-scale policy initiatives.
In 2025, Yizhuang hosted two major robotics events: the world’s first humanoid robot half-marathon in April and the inaugural China International Robotics Debate Competition in November. Officials described these as scientific experiments and technical validations, advancing technologies in perception, motion control, and hardware design.
To attract and support companies, Yizhuang introduced the “Ten Measures for Embodied Intelligence Robots,” offering up to 100 million yuan annually in data vouchers, prototyping subsidies, and sales incentives. The district also launched a program releasing urban application opportunities for over 10,000 embodied intelligence robots, including more than 1,000 humanoid units.
Yizhuang has opened over 40 real-world testing environments, such as supermarkets and warehouses, to generate training data for autonomous robots. Infrastructure projects include the Beijing Robotics Industrial Park, a 250,000-square-meter complex, and a 10-billion-yuan robotics industry fund. By 2027, the area aims to establish 10 benchmark intelligent scenario complexes, deploy 100 AI models, and attract 1,000 core companies to its AI ecosystem.
