Opyn Health Acquires AI Benefits Platform Empara

Opyn Health, Inc. has acquired Empara, an AI-led benefits engagement and administration platform, announced in a press release. The deal aims to combine Opyn’s price transparency and virtual care tools with Empara’s intelligent platform to deliver an integrated benefits administration experience.

The combined offering will provide members with a single, AI-driven interface that consolidates healthcare tools for easier access and management. For administrators, the integration is designed to streamline operations, reduce manual tasks, and improve service efficiency.

Empara was developed within the Goodroot community and focuses on simplifying benefits engagement through automation and user-friendly design. Following the acquisition, Empara’s founders Markus Waite, Ben Callaghan, and Mike Nigels will join Opyn Health to apply their AI expertise across Opyn’s data and digital health services. The unified platform will be available to third-party administrators, brokers, and self-insured employers.
