Optellum has entered an agreement with Bristol Myers Squibb to leverage artificial intelligence for early lung cancer diagnosis, announced in a press release. Optellum will utilize its AI-powered imaging and clinical decision support platform to assess the real-world impact on patient outcomes.

The collaboration aims to redefine early diagnosis and precision lung cancer care by deploying Optellum's Virtual Nodule Clinic (VNC) platform across multiple healthcare systems in the United States. This platform, which is the first FDA-cleared AI-powered decision support tool for early-stage lung cancer, integrates Patient Discovery AI and a Lung Cancer Prediction score to identify and prioritize at-risk patients for follow-up.

The agreement builds on an existing research collaboration between the two companies, focusing on democratizing access to life-saving early diagnosis and generating evidence to accelerate the deployment of AI-optimized lung cancer care pathways. The initiative seeks to improve thoracic care pathways and ensure that patients benefit from modern treatment options.
