Opera Neon: AI-Powered Browser for Automated Web Tasks
Opera has announced the launch of Opera Neon, a new browser designed to leverage AI agents for automating web tasks. In a press release, Opera described Neon as an 'agentic browser' capable of understanding user intent and performing tasks such as shopping, form-filling, and even coding websites and games.
The browser introduces three main features: Chat, Do, and Make. The Chat feature provides a chatbot interface for web searches and information retrieval. The Do feature utilizes the Browser Operator AI agent, enabling users to automate routine tasks like booking trips and filling forms directly within the browser. The Make feature allows users to create content, games, and web apps through text prompts, with tasks processed via a cloud-based virtual machine.
Opera Neon is currently in alpha and available through an invite-only waitlist. Users will need to subscribe to access the browser once it is publicly released, though pricing details have not yet been disclosed.
