OpenAI and the Greek Government have launched 'OpenAI for Greece', a partnership aimed at expanding access to AI tools in education and accelerating innovation in Greece's startup ecosystem, announced in a press release. This initiative involves collaboration with the Government of the Hellenic Republic, the Onassis Foundation, and Endeavor Greece.

The program will introduce ChatGPT Edu, a version of ChatGPT tailored for academic institutions, to Greek secondary schools. The pilot phase will focus on building AI literacy among teachers, with the Onassis Foundation leading the implementation. OpenAI will provide technical support and co-design teacher training.

In addition to educational initiatives, the Greek AI Accelerator Program will be launched to support local startups. This program, run in partnership with Endeavor Greece, will offer selected startups access to OpenAI technology, mentorship, and international exposure. The accelerator will prioritize startups developing AI solutions in sectors like education, public services, healthcare, and climate.
