Oman and the United Kingdom signed letters of intent covering responsible AI use in education and cooperation in the space sector. An education pilot will use AI tools to support English learning in selected Omani secondary schools.

Oman and the United Kingdom signed two letters of intent covering AI in education and cooperation in the space sector, according to the Oman Observer. The agreements were signed in London during Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's state visit to the UK.

The education letter pairs Oman's Ministry of Education with the British Council. The parties will design and run a pilot in selected Omani secondary schools, using AI supported learning tools to improve students' English speaking and writing skills.

The project will train teachers to use AI safely in classrooms and align activities with Omani curricula. It will also include safeguards for students and data, with results assessed against indicators agreed by both parties.

The separate space letter covers cooperation between the UK Space Agency and Oman in space policy, scientific research and related technical expertise.
