Obvio Secures $22 Million to Expand AI Traffic Safety Solutions
Obvio has raised $22 million in Series A funding, announced in a press release. The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures, with participation from Khosla Ventures and Pathlight Ventures. The funds will be used to expand Obvio's AI-powered traffic safety solutions nationally and to grow its team.
Obvio's technology employs solar-powered AI cameras to detect dangerous driving behaviors, providing municipalities and law enforcement with tools to improve road safety. The cameras can automatically issue citations for violations, such as running stop signs, which has already shown a 50% reduction in such incidents in Prince George's County, Maryland.
The company aims to address the national crisis of traffic fatalities, which remain high despite significant government spending. Obvio's approach combines cutting-edge technology with a focus on safety and privacy, ensuring that only necessary data is collected and shared with authorities.
