Netwrix Expands 1Secure Platform to Monitor AI Agent Data Access
Cybersecurity firm Netwrix has announced new features for its 1Secure platform designed to give organizations visibility and governance over how AI agents and assistants access sensitive data. The update focuses on identifying how AI systems use inherited identity permissions across hybrid environments.
The new capabilities in Netwrix Access Analyzer allow security teams to detect excessive permissions, hidden access paths, and risky identity relationships that could expose sensitive data to AI assistants or unauthorized users. Expanded discovery and classification tools help locate sensitive information across collaboration platforms, file systems, and cloud environments, enabling stronger policy enforcement.
The platform now also provides governance for automated identities and AI-driven workflows. Netwrix Threat Manager and Threat Prevention modules detect suspicious certificate activity, block malicious certificate enrollments, and monitor irregular behavior from machine identities such as service accounts. A new service account dashboard uses machine learning to highlight risky configurations and abnormal activity.
Netwrix Auditor, now available as a SaaS solution within 1Secure, adds monitoring for AI-driven activity, including Microsoft Copilot. It tracks when sensitive data is accessed through AI prompts, supports readiness assessments to identify potential exposure, and maintains audit trails for compliance. Integration with Netwrix Endpoint Protector extends these controls to data in motion, preventing sensitive information from leaving endpoints during AI interactions.
The new AI-focused features across Access Analyzer, Auditor, Threat Prevention, and Endpoint Protector are available immediately, while Threat Manager updates will be released soon.
