Netwrix Report: 37% of Organizations Shift Security Strategies Due to AI Threats
More than one-third of organizations have modified their security strategies in response to AI-driven threats, according to new findings from Netwrix. The company’s 2025 Cybersecurity Trends Report indicates that 37% of respondents adjusted their security approach over the past year as AI accelerated identity-based attacks and expanded the threat landscape.
The report highlights that 30% of businesses now treat AI systems as critical assets requiring protection, while 29% say auditors demand proof of data security and privacy in AI-based systems. Meanwhile, 28% of respondents reported that AI-powered cybersecurity tools have improved detection and response capabilities, and 20% have used AI to offload some IT and security workloads.
Adoption of AI-based security tools is also rising sharply. Nearly one-third of professionals identified implementing AI solutions as a top priority for strengthening cybersecurity, with AI tool adoption as a top-five IT initiative increasing from 9% in 2023 to 26% in 2025—a 189% growth.
The 2025 Cybersecurity Trends Report is based on a global survey of 2,150 IT and security professionals across 121 countries, reflecting how AI is reshaping both the attack surface and defensive measures in modern enterprise environments.
