Nauticus and Open Ocean Robotics Collaborate on Subsea Asset Management
Nauticus Robotics and Open Ocean Robotics have announced a strategic collaboration to transform subsea asset management, announced in a press release. The partnership combines Nauticus' expertise in autonomous subsea robotics with Open Ocean's solar-powered uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs) to offer innovative solutions for the energy sector.
The collaboration aims to significantly reduce the high operational costs associated with subsea inspections, maintenance, and monitoring. By integrating Nauticus' autonomous subsea vehicles with Open Ocean's surface-based USVs, the joint solution provides persistent, real-time monitoring and data collection, minimizing the need for costly crewed vessels.
This partnership allows energy operators to conduct autonomous inspections and monitoring of critical infrastructure, such as pipelines and subsea manifolds, more frequently and efficiently, while also reducing environmental impact. Open Ocean's USVs, powered by solar energy, offer a clean-tech solution that dramatically cuts greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional crewed vessels.
