Naive has raised $28.5 million in Series A funding to build infrastructure for AI agents that can run entire businesses through a unified API. The round was led by Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from Y Combinator, Zetta, Liquid 2, and angel investors including Gokul Rajaram, Tim Zheng of Apollo, former HubSpot executive JD Sherman, Gert Lanckriet of Amazon, Robert Chatwani of Docusign, and Zachary Sims of Codecademy.

The Palo Alto AI lab was founded by Sean Dorje and Dennis Zax, who previously sold ezML before going through Y Combinator.

Naive's pitch is that coding agents can now ship apps, but they cannot ship businesses. A modern company needs incorporation, payments, email, phone, memory, and models, and wiring those services together has been the hard part. Naive puts that operating stack behind one API driven from a single configuration file, so an AI agent can provision what a company needs to actually run.

The company said the new funding will be used to scale the platform.
