MongoDB Adds Voyage AI Features and Expands Search to On-Premises and Private Cloud
MongoDB, Inc. announced in a press release new AI retrieval features and expanded availability of its search capabilities at MongoDB.local Bengaluru. The updates aim to improve retrieval accuracy and compliance for enterprises running AI applications across cloud, private cloud, and on-premises environments.
The company introduced three new features powered by Voyage AI models. Voyage Context 4, now generally available, is an embedding model designed to handle long documents with improved contextual understanding. Native Reranking, now in public preview for MongoDB Atlas, boosts retrieval quality by up to 30 percent directly inside the database. Hybrid Search, also generally available, combines full-text and vector search in a single query to provide more precise results.
MongoDB Search and Vector Search are now generally available for Enterprise Advanced and Community Edition deployments. This enables organizations in regulated industries to run AI retrieval on infrastructure they control, while startups and developers can use the same capabilities locally at no cost.
The company also announced plans to train two million Indian developers by 2030 through partnerships with the All India Council for Technical Education, HCL GUVI, and the ICT Academy of Kerala, expanding its MongoDB for Academia program.
