Microsoft Signs 20 Year Indiana Power Deal With NiSource
NiSource announced in a press release a 20 year energy agreement to supply about 1,100 MW to a northwest Indiana data center campus operated by Microsoft. Microsoft is expected to begin receiving electricity under the agreement in 2028.
Microsoft will fund the generation and transmission infrastructure needed to serve the campus. NiSource Generation Company will add the capacity to a pool of resources serving large load customers, while NIPSCO and NiSource Generation Company will provide the related infrastructure.
NiSource estimates its data center customer contracts will generate about $1.75 billion in savings for existing NIPSCO electric customers, up from its previous estimate of $1.4 billion. The company said this could equal as much as $140 per customer annually.
NiSource Generation Company also contracted 600 MW of battery storage under a long term tolling agreement. An affiliate of AGP Group will develop and build the facility.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
