Microsoft Restructures West Africa Leadership to Boost AI Initiatives
Microsoft has announced a significant leadership reshuffle in West Africa, appointing Abideen Yusuf as the new General Manager for Nigeria and Ghana. This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance AI adoption and digital growth across the continent.
Olatomiwa Williams, who has been with Microsoft since 2010 and served as Nigeria Country Manager since 2021, has been promoted to Chief Growth and Artificial Intelligence Officer for the Middle East and Africa Growth Markets. In her new role, Williams will oversee AI and growth initiatives across emerging markets in the region.
Yusuf, previously the Director of Enterprise Business for Microsoft, will now manage operations in a newly created Multi Country Cluster (MCC) aimed at deepening Microsoft's local impact. This leadership transition is part of a larger reorganization within Microsoft's MEA operations, reflecting the company's commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in Africa.
